Keratoplasty is a surgical procedure to restore the shape and functioning of cornea and to eliminate defects, opacities and deformations caused by keratoconus or a traumatic experience. The aim of this surgery is to replace a part of the cornea with a donor transplant. The corneal graft may replace different separate layers of the cornea (anterior and posterior lamellar keratoplasty) or all layers (penetraring keratoplasty).
Keratoplasty at S. Fyodorov Eye Microsurgery Federal State Institution is carried out by highly qualified ophthalmic surgeons who have extensive experience in performing such surgeries. The use of modern techniques, such as femtosecond laser-assisted keratoplasty, minimizes postoperative complications and allows to achieve the most positive results.
